Little Traverse Sailors is proud to offer tuition assistance to young sailors who might otherwise be unable to afford regular program fees.

Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so you are encouraged to apply as early as possible. Scholarship dollars are made available by generous individual donations from the LTS community, grants and other non-profit organizations. Scholarships will be awarded based on the funds available, a financial need, and the child’s desire to learn to sail.

In the 2025 season we awarded over 50 scholarships!

The “local rate” is offered to any student who lives in Northern Michgan year round (North of the 45th Parallel). This discounted gives almost 40% a normal priced session – $125 off of a $325 class and $100 off of a $260 class.

In 2025 the “local rate” was applied 324 times by 111 students!
